Days Inn by Wyndham Conover-Hickory

When booking the room it said they had a continental breakfast but while checking in they had a sign hanging up that stated due to covid they were not having the continental breakfast anymore. That needs to be posted on the website. The beds are uncomfortable and the room wouldn't cool down even though the air conditioner was at the lowest setting. As far as being close to the racetrack and town that was a plus. I don't know if I will book it next year just for it being close to the racetrack.

It's an average motel experience, but when displaced by hurricane we're happy just having power, water, cable and Wi-Fi. I saw no pests in our room and trust me I was looking, Be thankful for what you have guys.

Had a good stay here. Staff is very nice and accommodating. Room was pretty big, although a bit dated. Couldn't get the hair dryer to work and the air/heat unit seemed to be on its last leg, but those were the only issues I encountered. Wanted to check out the pool, but it was raining the days I stayed here. Breakfast was okay, better than what similar places serve. There aren't a bunch of lower priced hotels in/around hickory, but this was the best choice at the lowest price for a double room WITH a fridge and microwave. Had a package sent here and they were extremely nice and held onto it, even though it was after I checked out. The only reason I didn't stay longer was because the price jumped with memorial day weekend coming up. It was going to be $15 higher than normal, a night, if I had stayed over the weekend.. Other hotels in the area that I looked at didn't have this price hike..

This was an unplanned stay. My family was forced here after a monster tornado ripped through my area. Everything was great and made for a stress free stay. It was clean and comfortable. The front desk customer service was excellent and the staff was very accomodating.

Decent place for a decent price. It was a bit cool out but we did try the pool which had a nice walk down steps, deep end of 5', and a handicap lift for the water. The shower had a nice outward been shower curtain to give it a bigger feel. We did unplug the alarm clock as it kept giving out strange popping/ buzzing noise through the night.

Carpet needs to be taken out and hard floors need to be done. Can tell the carpet has been there since probably since it was built, makes the room smell. Doesn't matter how many times it's vacuumed it still smells. I know it costs the owners to have every room shampooed and steam cleaned. the But it would be more cost efficient and make the rooms more appealing, look more up to date and lot easier for house keeping to clean if they would get rid of the carpet. But very friendly staff, and owners. Owners are very hands on, nice couple, nice breakfast as well.

The gentleman at the desk was very nice and helpful. Room is very clean and smells great. Even a recliner in the room so I can sit back stretch out and watch some TV. All the comforts of home. The room has a mini fridge microwave coffee maker and hair dryer. Towels are nice and comfy also.

The room was nice and updated. The bathrooms need serious attention. The pipes sounded like a horny whale looking for his mate. The room was hot the mini fridge was warm there was no soap and in a nonsmoking room you could tell someone was smoking something. If you passed the maids wagon it smelled like smoke as well so i think we found the. Culprit. The breakfast is a joke and the milk was super expired. The waffle maker was broken and everything else was bland. But its free so It was good for an overnight stay. Wouldnt stay any longer.

I love staying here! They deal with a lot sometimes with guests but remain good hearted folks!! The parking area has just been sealed! A lot goes on to maintain the property!! Looks great!!
